Getting started with Storywise

The Start Page is your gateway to creating and accessing projects in Storywise. Here you’ll find options to create new projects, access recent work, and import existing content.

Import Options

You can import content from various sources to get started quickly:

  • Text: Begin a project by pasting a plain text document into the text area. See Importing from Text for details.
  • Images: Begin a project by uploading images. Check out Using Image Upload.
  • PDF Upload: Begin a project by uploading a PDF document. Refer to Importing a PDF for guidance.
  • Miro Integration: Import user stories and epics directly from Miro. Learn more in Using Miro Integration.
  • Figma Integration: Import screens from Figma. See Using Figma Integration for additional information.

Usage Guide

Starting with an Example

  1. Click on “Start with an Example”
  2. A sample project will be created with pre-filled content
  3. The example project contains carefully crafted sample content that demonstrates Storywise best practices
  4. Each feature is presented with a single, clear sentence to showcase optimal requirement writing for the storywise wizard

Importing from Text

  1. Copy your text into the text area
  2. Continue by clicking on “Create Project”
  3. Choose the Name of your project
  4. Choose if you want to use User Stories or Plain Text
  5. Click on “Create Project”
  6. Now you are in the wizard. See Wizard for more details.

Importing a PDF

  1. Click on “Import”
  2. Select and upload your PDF document
  3. Choose the Name of your project
  4. Choose if you want to use User Stories or Plain Text
  5. Click on “Create Project”
  6. Now you are in the wizard. See Wizard for more details.

Using Image Upload

  1. Click on “Import”
  2. Select and upload your images
  3. Choose the Name of your project
  4. Choose if you want to use User Stories or Plain Text
  5. Click on “Create Project”
  6. Now you are in the wizard. See Wizard for more details.

Using Miro Integration

  1. Ensure your Miro board uses standard note cards
  2. Assign specific colors to epics
  3. Provide the color information during the import process
  4. Choose the Name of your project
  5. Choose if you want to use User Stories or Plain Text
  6. Click on “Create Project”
  7. Now you are in the wizard. See Wizard for more details.

Using Figma Integration

  1. Establish a connection by providing a Figma token (see Acquiring a Figma Token below)

  2. Input the file link obtained from the Figma URL

    Additional Info: To obtain the Figma file link, simply copy the URL from your browser’s address bar while the file is open, or use Figma’s share functionality to generate a link.

  3. Select the desired artboards or import all underlying screens

  4. Choose the Name of your project

  5. Choose if you want to use User Stories or Plain Text

  6. Click on “Create Project”

  7. Now you are in the wizard. See Wizard for more details.

Acquiring a Figma Token

Follow these steps to create your team token:

  1. Log in to your Figma account.
  2. Navigate to your account settings from the top-left menu in Figma.
  3. Locate the section for personal access tokens.
  4. Click on “Create New Token”.
  5. Copy the generated token and paste it into Storywise.
