Feature Filtering Capability and Releases
Storywise provides two powerful ways to organize and filter your requirements: Features and Releases. Stories can belong to multiple features simultaneously. Releases allow you to plan and organize your development timeline, and a story can only be in one release at a time.
Features
Features let you assign epics and stories to specific functionality groups, providing enhanced organizational control. With features, you can:
- Exclude certain features during export for a more tailored output
- Seamlessly synchronize only the relevant features with project management tools (e.g., Jira)
- Manage which features appear on the pricing and comparison page
Releases
For example:
- A “Push Notifications” feature could have some basic stories in your “MVP” release and additional stories in “Release 2.0”
- In agile workflows, you can use releases to import only current sprint stories into your project management tools
- Stories can be assigned to both immediate and future releases for comprehensive roadmap planning
- Seamlessly synchronize only the relevant releases with project management tools (e.g., Jira)
- Manage which releases are included on the pricing and comparison page
Document Version Comparison
Features and releases also serve as powerful tools when comparing different versions of documents:
- Toggle features on/off to see how they impact different document versions
- Compare how a specific feature evolves across multiple document versions
- Analyze the cost and effort implications of features between versions
- Evaluate release planning changes between document iterations
- Use feature filtering to focus version comparisons on specific functionality areas
This version comparison capability helps teams understand how features and releases have evolved over time, making it easier to track changes in scope, requirements, and planning decisions.
